Well it's a beautiful Saturday morning in the Okanagan, the sky is blue, the air is clear and the smells of fresh country air are magnificant! If you are planning your upcoming long weekend, think Okanagan. There will be an Easter Egg Hunt up at Jack Seaton park in Lake Country. Get there by 10:30am to register. Graymonk Winery will be open for lunches. If you haven't been to the Grapevine Restaurant at Graymonk then you'll want to check it out. An amazing view of Lake Okanagan and the most wonderful hosts Willie and Marie. Be prepared to pay a little more but well worth it. Another favorite of Fun Patrol is Quails Gate Winery on the Westside and Cedar Creek in Kelowna. If you are looking for something special to do with the family then you've come t...

Regional Parks & Trails
Now that the children are off with Spring Break, parents are looking for things to do. Parks, trails and natural spaces are an important part of our community, providing a location for exercise, relaxation, and outdoor activities. They also filter our water and air and provide habitat for wildlife. In the Okanagan we're lucky to have easy access to parks and trails. Even so, they can still be wild places, so while you're out, protect yourself and the parks by doing these simple things: Tell someone where you're going and when you'll be back Stay on designated trails to protect plants and trees near the path Know about and be alert to wildlife in the area Pack out garbage and pick up after your pet Take water, wear sturdy footwear and dress for the weather For more i...

CANADA Breaks Records
Way to Go Canada! Most Golds ever won in the Winter Olympics! The last couple of weeks have had us on the edge of our seats with anticipation of medal contention. All the hard work of the athletes leading up to the Olympics finally challenged. There were so many memorable moments of the Olympics but I have to say that watching that final Canada vs USA Gold match in Men's Hockey really had to take the cake. My brother told me in the morning that the game would end in a 2-2 tie at the end of regulation and Sid the Kid was going to score the winning goal. Well I called him on the edge of my seat during each intermission asking if he wanted to change his prediction and he said, "no, I'm going to be famous tomorrow at the Fire Hall when Sid the Kid comes through!"...
